Volunteer
Thank you for
your interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Lakeside.
There are many ways to volunteer to help Habitat provide
simple, decent shelter in partnership with people in need.
Volunteer Opportunities
Construction
You
don’t need to be an experienced builder to work
on a Habitat house. While we do require some experienced
or professional workers
to serve as crew leaders and teachers, we are happy to
have anyone, regardless of skill or ability, as long
as they are ready to work
and willing to learn.
Worksite Volunteer
Opportunities
• Crew leader – Supervises
and teaches a group of 4-5 inexperienced volunteers on the build
site.
• General volunteer – Provides general construction labor
and works under the supervision of a crew leader.
Note: Worksite volunteers must be at least 16 years old and
have parental consent to participate.
• Site host – Greets volunteers, assists with making
sure waivers are signed and provides general orientation
information.
• Lunch host – Individual or group that donates, prepares,
delivers and serves lunches to worksite volunteers.
Habitat ReStore
The
Habitat ReStore is
a building materials reuse and surplus store whose mission
is three-fold: To provide low cost building materials
to shoppers, reduce the amount of building materials
going to area landfills and to use profits to support the building
of Habitat
homes in Sheboygan County. Click
here for more information about the Habitat ReStore.
